Carl Zeiss Vision – Enterprise Data WarehouseManufacturing | Supply Chain | Enterprise Analytics
Situation
Carl Zeiss Vision, one of the world’s leading eyeglass lens manufacturers, had grown through a series of acquisitions — leaving data fragmented across 18 business units including wholesale, retail, and 16 manufacturing sites across the U.S. and Mexico. There was no central repository, no unified reporting, and no way to get a consistent view of sales, supply chain, or operations across the enterprise.
They needed their first corporate Enterprise Data Warehouse — built from the ground up.
What We Built
NexDimension led the full lifecycle development of Carl Zeiss Vision’s first EDW — from inception through delivery — in 15 months with a seven-person team. The platform integrated data from all 18 business units into a single, governed analytics environment covering Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations.
The architecture included a complete EDW environment with ODS, dimensional warehouse, and downstream data marts, cross-border supply chain analytics integrating SAP ERP and in-house systems across the U.S. and Mexico, dimensional models and SSAS cubes that balanced to the general ledger, and a customer master-data linkage strategy establishing common customer IDs across all 18 business units for the first time.
